About

Why Fenton Art Festival?

As practicing artists, the ChesterGoodtree team realized there was a void in the Triangle for a fine arts-focused festival. Yes, there are arts & crafts festivals, and goodness knows there are hundreds of pop-up markets in the region.

As members of several arts organizations, we frequently heard that artists felt there was a lack of fine art opportunities. The Fenton Art Festival aims to fill that void.

This festival focuses on our many talented fine arts creators. The people selling oil paintings and watercolors, sculptures, and mixed media work that would hang in an office or a gallery, and maybe win a Best-in-Show prize. Works that are valued at hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. We also found a lack of events where the public is invited to see the work in progress and have a chance to try their hand at making art.

In 2023, we approached the Fenton, Cary's leading lifestyle center, about hosting such an event. Fenton already has more than a dozen public art pieces throughout the property, and the affluent clientele who visit are an excellent target market for such an event...

They were intrigued and decided to partner with us on The Fenton Arts Festival.
